She can lead you to live
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe you
And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free
She steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me
To tell a woman everything she may not do is to tell her what she can do!
...and whenever someone asks, "How good does a female athlete have to be before we just call her an athlete?"
I run, run, and run...until I feel like (almost) dying and coming back to life!

Yesterday, me and some of my girlfriends participated in the "Pinay in Action" at the NBC Tent, The Fort. This is a running event specially made for women and women who love to run!
But this is not just about running. This event was made to honor the importance of women in our lives! A perfect way for everyone to celebrate the strength and spirit of womanhood.
What could be a better way of celebrating the International Women’s Month than having to see a huge group of strong, fine-looking, determined, and vibrant women gathered in one place to race and to have fun!
Ellaine and I joined the 10k run. This is Ellaine's first 10k run and my 6th event. Some of my friends from the office (Etch, Deb, Rueth, and Mace) and from school (Wennie and Haids) also did their 5k event. Some of them had their first taste of a real running event and they loved it and finished it. Two of my running mates, Alex and Eric were also present during the event to provide support.
Since I was running the race, Alex was good enough to take most of the photos. Meanwhile, Eric joined Ellaine in her 10k run as I was (so) determined to beat my previous running record, which I did. I ran the 10k for 1:00 beating my previous Rundezvous record at 1:03. Yey!
Starting the 10k run with Senator Pia Cayetano (with the pink cap) at the starting line. Photo by Alex.
Women all powered up to start the race! The woman on the left with her arms open wide and in pink suit is society figure and newspaper columnist, Tessa Prieto-Valdes. I always see her in this category. Photo by Alex.
Probably a mom finishing the 1.6k race with her kiddies. Go, go, go!
Even those that cannot walk yet joined in the event. Go mommies!

Ang saya-saya Rayts! That is so great... all these women running. And I'm so inggit... sobra talaga! :)
Happy Women's Day to you too! :)
Too bad they don't really announce those events in the newspapers... I would have liked to participate... as a photographer (of course! ) ;-)
Is there a men's month?
Great stuff!
Alex did a poor job, though, I was looking for Rayts showing off her running legs :-)
I love this: a running event just for women.
I was very happy last Friday. The Hermes Ladies Volleyball team won the sports trophy in my hometown of Oostende. They beat the basketball playing men, the male sailor and loads of other men.
Girl Power.
Photo of a delegation of the winning girls on my Facebook.
Why were you not in any of the photos?! Was hoping I can see you running. Mwehehe!
Anyway, thanks for the birthday wish. Appreciated! And Happy Women's Month to you too!
(:
@Toe:
thanks! the event was fun, the sponsors even gave all the finishers our own loot bags na may lamang Downy, Ariel at Whisper.
@Sidney:
A Men's Month? Why not! But it would be more dramatic if we have less male in the Senate and more of female taking the big, major positions, right? let's make the male a minority sector this time.
I will support Men's Month...in honor of the importance of men in our society! ;)
@Peter:
Alex did pretty much his job. I had loads of photos, during the start of my run, half way through the course, up to the finish line. I just don't think it's necessary to post them here. don't want to scare people much and say, this is "Rayts' Month". and oh, you know me.
yep I saw the photo of the delegation in your facebook. awesome girl power!
@kyels:
how come i am not in the photo? gosh, am that predictable already?! ;p more birthdays to come kyels and wish you all the best.
Aren't you number 1806 ? ;-) or 1021 ?
I should probably be ashamed of myself, but the whole women's day/month thing totally passed me by without me noticing.
As for running 10k? Just the thought makes me break out in a cold sweat.
Tena koe ehoa
You are one of the women in the 4th image yes Rayts? Unmistakable for my own 'collected thoughts'.
I think that it's a great cause to celebrate the female gender and to gain a solidarity from union and kinship of other woman in the process.
I could make some flippant remark about women and months but I can't run fast enough to get away!
As for men's month, let's face it unless it's a piss-up in a brewery we can't be bothered to organise it can we?!
Running..., I think I've already given my thoughts on that one!
OMG! Sobrang nakakatawang kwento naman yon! Tawa ako ng tawa! :) Naku, sana naman walang mga boyfriendable don na hinahanapan mo ng whisper mo!!!! :)
