We look hard and memorize so that when it’s gone, we have something to hold on to

dark night and the moon

On my last night in Davao del Sur, I went outside, fix myself a cup of coffee and went to find the dark sky boasting its greatness with the fullest of moon I have ever seen. I stayed in my spot for as long as I could. I don’t have a tripod with me so I never expected good images to come out of it especially setting the camera for long exposure, but at least I could approximate and share with you what I have witnessed.

--------

I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger.

Now that was a quote from The Joker. I went to see The Dark Knight two nights ago, just because I thought I was the only person in the office who haven’t seen it yet and I can’t relate much with what my colleagues are fussing about talking about the story lines and the bat mobile and all those stuff. Not that I care really but I, myself, have been anticipating to see this film. Especially the fuss about Heath Ledger's posthumous Oscar for his Joker performance. I am not much of a Ledger fan really, but I am a fan of “good movies". I am actually more of a Christopher Nolan enthusiast (ever since Memento graced into the screen). Nonetheless, whether it’s just hype or not, The Dark Knight is worth every penny.

A day after, I went to see Mamma Mia! with Deb, Dax, and Deb's dad. The movie drove me nuts. I was not prepare to see Pierce Brosnan singing “SOS” on the screen. Jesus Christ. And for crying out loud, they made my Colin Firth a gay man singing “Our Last Summer”. Bollocks! But I must admit, Julie Walters and Christine Baranski are so much fun to watch. Dax loved the choreography of Tanya (played by Baranski) so much so that he wanted to do his own version of Chiquitita. I nearly fell on my sit laughing like a stupid moron. Ha!

--------

Driving over the rough, rugged road to nowhere, he asked me this: "Are you heretic? An atheist?" I nearly fell on my seat. I believe my jaws dropped too. And then I told him. "My mom calls me a Satanist!" He didn't laugh. He usually laugh at every remark I make. I guess he did not get the joke.

I'm waiting for Mamma Mia! to grace the screens here. It'll be quite long before they show it though.

Just like you, I'm not much of a Ledger fan but I do applaud him for his acting in The Dark Knight. It was very interesting unlike Christian Bale whom I thought was a tad too boring.

Wow, ang galing ng photo... the glorious full moon peeking out of the dark clouds.

I've also watched Mamma Mia... tawa ako ng tawa. Although nakaka-ilang nga kumanta si Pierce Brosnan. Achaka honga... ano ba ginawa nila kay Colin Firth? :)
